The Real Deal - Chocolate bites /Äkta Chokladbollar
Ask any Swedish kid what his/hers favorite homemade treats are and I guarantee you that they will mention chocolate balls ( a treat I have chosen to call chocolate bites because I think it sounds nicer.). This is a Swedish classic and it its so easy to make, of course the real deal has lots of butter and sugar in them, but my version is almost identical with the original when it comes to taste. Dates and coconut oil give my version the same buttery consistency as you would find in the original recipe. But these are so much healthier!
I came up with this recipe yesterday and they are already gone, they are just that GOOD!
Chocolate bites
Gluten Free & Vegan
9 big medjool dates
2 tbs coconut oil
3 tbs raw cacao
1/4 + 2 tbs almond flour
1 1/2 cup quick oats
1/4 tsp sea salt
4 tbs almond milk
Pit the dates and add put them in a high speed food processor together with the coconut oil. Mix to a fine dough.
Add the rest of the ingredients and mix until everything is blended.
Roll into balls.
OPTIONAL; roll the balls in shredded coconut.
Put them in the fridge and let them be for an hour or so, I know this is hard and it is optional but the longer you let the balls sit in the fridge the more delicious and fudgy they get. Patience is key!
Chokladbollar Gluten Fria & Veganska.
9 stora medjool dadlar
2 msk kokosolja
3 msk raw cacao
1/4 cup + 2 msk mandelmjöl
1 1/2 cup havregryn.
1/4 tsk salt
