#Mini10K in Central Park - So Many Wonder Women!
Today was such a fun morning. Me and a few other Swedish girls from SWEA-NY ran the New York Mini 10k. It was held in Central Park and I think something like 10,000 women ran the race. I am definitely not an avid runner, like I enjoy it from time to time, but I am not "living for it". So this 10k was a bit though, although so much fun. The next one I do I want to get in better shape for and feel stronger. It's so much more fun to exercise with a goal in mind, so this was a great motivational boost for me!Below are some photos from the day 🏃♀️! When it's 6:15 AM and you're not a morning person you take your Nespresso coffee to go. Then everything got a bit stressful because the subway was running a bit late, and the place where you lock your bag in wasn't open (panic!). So there's no photos until I was in line waiting for the start to sound off. So many women and such a good vibe! Here's my number for the day. While waiting for the race to start I had to get a photo. Can you tell that I'm excited!? haha I was super pumped and almost a bit nervous, since this is the first proper race I've done (I don't think the one color-run or obstacle course 5k I've done in the past counts). Also those black straps are my backpack... didn't have time to find another place to lock it in. Oh well it wasn't so bad running with it, just a bit more sweaty in the back. How fun when you find other Swedes running the event and this wasn't the only one, there were SO MANY! #GoSweden 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪 During the running part no photos were taking, was focus on the running part, but snapped one before running across the finish line. That time isn't accurate for me, I was somewhere between 1h and 5-10 minutes. Was using my RunKeeper to track it! Here it's just a few minutes after the race and I'm holding a flower that every person got (so sweet)! The endorphins you get after a good run and especially one that is a big event is pretty amazing. I almost look a bit crazy in this photo, but I was just super happy and excited to have finished race. On the right is a closeup of the medal you got after finishing. After the race we met up with the other girls from SWEA and had a well deserved brunch at The Smith. I was for half a second thinking that maybe I should order a salad... but that quickly changed when I saw they had waffles on the menu haha. So yummy!Overall such a fun morning and race, can't wait to sign up to run another one. But first a few days of soreness probably.. ;)
