THIS IS ME

Hello!

My name is Kristin Nordqvist, I am 17 years old, soon to be 18 and I'm in high school right now.

The school I'm going to is called Naturlära i Hälsingland and it is a hogh school for horselovers you may say ;)

Two times a week, sometimes three, we are in the stable and have riding-training, sometimes dressage and sometimes jumping, usually one time a week for each.

On my spare time I'm usually in the stable or with my friends and just have fun together.

In this blog I am going to tell you about Sweden, our traditions, our favourite food and other things.

So I'll keep it updated!

Unique

UNIQUE IN SWEDEN:

#1 Surströmming, Fermented herring

Fermented herring is herring that has been preserved by fermentation.

It's doesn't taste that much it smells awful and even thought that a lot of people enjoy eating it.

#2 Kalles Kaviar

Kalles Kaviar is a Swedish sandwich spread made of smoked, sugar, salted cod and sejrom. Caviar contain added sugar, salt, potato flakes and tomato paste.

#3 Saltlakrits

Salt Licorice, also known as liquorice candy is candy licorice flavor that is added salt liquorice.

Salt Licorice is mostly sold and consumed in the north europe, like Sweden, Finland and Norway.

Why it's unique in Sweden is because alot of swedes lika it, and it's not so many other people in other countries that does.

#4 Snus, Snuff

I do believe that most people know what snuff is, but the special thing about it is that it's actually produced and sold in Sweden.

Sweden produce the snuff and then exports it to other countries who sell it.

#5 Jantelagen

Jantelagen is an unwritten law, that says that you aren't allowed to be seen and think that you're better than anyone else in any way.

JANTELAGEN:

1. You're not gonna think you're someone.

2. You're not gonna think that you're more polite than us.

3. You're not gonna think that you're smarter than us.

4. You're not gonna think that you're better than us.

5. You're not gonna think that you know more than us.

6. You're not gonna think you're more than us.

7. You're not gonna think you're good enough.

8. You will not laugh at us.

9. You're not gonna think that cares for you.

10. You're not gonna think that you can teach us anything.

#6 Allemansrätten, right of public access

Allemansrätten is the right for all people to be on private land i the nature, to temporarily stay there and pluck berries, mushrooms and other things.

With this right, responsibility comes. You got to show respect both for the land and the animals who live there.

And also to the landowner and other people you may meet.
