This Croatian holiday-day actually started a while before this pic was taken. We knew that we wanted to bring home some Croatian specialties and since our holiday was nearing its end we started actively asking around for things like local home made olive oil etc. The girl who was working the reception of the campground on this particular morning took a break, popped us in her car and drove us to her family home where her grandma made alcohol & olive oil in the garage! Such a fun experience, we came out with a bunch of stuff.. hehe.  After this little adventure we had breakfast at the campgrounds restaurant then it was decided that we should hitchhike :O I'd never done it before but Duncan was a pro. We were picked up by a guy who was out driving with his mom, she told stories about the island and pointed out different bays while the son translated. Really lovely people!! They dropped us off at one of the famous bays :)  Immediately went for a swim in the crystal clear water. This guy had the right idea!!  After a quick dip we needed lunch, so traipsed up to the little snack bar. After ordering fries & cevapi we realized that THEY HAD DONKEYS!!!  I was extremely excited.  After donkey-hangout & a spot of lunch we decided to hike to the next bay, where we would go for a dip then hopefully hitch a ride back to the campground!  After a long walk we finally got a ride, by a nun in full gear, who didn't speak a word of English >< she was great though, shouted angrily and honked at all the other cars, tried communicating with us very sweetly and dropped us off right at the door of the big supermarket near the campground! Definitely a fun experience this hitchhiking business. The rest of the night was spent bbq-ing, sampling grandmas homemade alcohol and hanging out with the cats of the little town. Take me back???? :))
