So this year, I didn't just go to Sweden Rock & Hellfest as usual, I added Download to the mix too! June was a very intense month, haha.  When they released the line up and Guns n Roses were one of the headliners I knew I had to go. But who would be up for coming with me? I sent Katharina a message, thinking we'd have so much fun, but I was ready for a no. Imagine my happy surprise when she responded within a couple of minutes with I'M IN, can you buy me a ticket? I'll transfer the money now! I love her for this <3 here she is, on her way to her first big rock festival!!  So Download was different to the other festivals that I go to in a few ways. 1. Since it's only just over an hour from Paris a lot of people just come out for the day. 2. You're only allowed a tiny bit of alcohol on the campground and they do check your bags thoroughly on arrival (we managed to get past this, hehe, but that's another story) and 3. More of an observation rather than a difference, but it felt much smaller than I had expected! Anyway - the trip out there was smooth enough, a couple of queues (it is noticeable that it's still a very young festival, only on year 3) but nothing we couldn't handle. We got set up and headed off to explore!  But first, food! There were a couple of food places in the actual campground, along with a small stage, a little outdoor cinema and a bar. Nice idea but SO LOUD at night. Grr.  First up bandwise, Billy Talent!  We were together for the first time in 2 years (!!!), the sun was shining, we had lots of festivaling in front of us, happy times!! <3  Fun gig, great way to kick things off!  Next up: Alestorm!! FUN! WE ARE HERE TO DRINK YOUR BEER! Those who know, know :)))  And last out on the first day of Download 2018: Ozzy Osbourne with Zakk Wylde! Definitely Katharinas fave ;)  I was so excited that my face turned completely round, like a beachball, haha! Didn't know it could do that >< Had to capture this poor guy who had to keep running after Zakk with the cord, haha..  Great fun, of course. I had seen them a week prior at Sweden Rock, but may have been slightly inebriated at that point (oops) so it was good to see them again in a clearer way :)))I have so many good video clips from this that I want to make a whole Download-movie out of, but since my computer has 100% given up on life that'll have to wait (until I can get my paws on movie maker again somehow).
