BACK TO SWEDEN ROCK!!

We've got a few more posts to get through before we tie up the sack of this years festival season. So without further a-do, let's hop back to a day at Sweden Rock! This year over all was quite rainy. Swedish summer can be pretty unpredictable, especially in the beginning of June. Luckily some of Simons family friends had come over in a camper van that we could hang out in whenever we got a bit too cold/wet. On this particular day we headed over to use their kitchen, guess what we were making :))))  One of the things I had been most looking forward to this year was the fact that Alter Bridge were doing a signing session! Now, with my luck, this was of course cancelled :( almost shed a tear over my burger but tried to keep my spirits up knowing that they'd at least still play and I would absolutely be in the front row (as usual!). First we watched a bit of the Finnish band Apocalyptica. They do instrumental Metallica covers on string instruments. Very different! The sun came out and Simon attack-cuddled someone who I think is our neighbour Runar? Simon? Thoughts?  Then it was time for Alter Bridge! Yay! I was, true to form, in the very front row - next to a super pregnant woman, a bit surprising!  I jumped along like the nut I become at gigs and a middle aged man behind me started crying his eyes out when they played Blackbird. A bit sad but also very sweet I thought.  Funny thing: Brian Marshall wore a Gefle Hårdrocks Klubb-tshirt! GHK is a hard rock-club in Gävle, where Carolina & Simon live. Simon even knows the girl who started it! Represent!! Now the highlight of the gig for me was right at the end, when they were throwing out picks/drumsticks/setlists. Myles Kennedy handed this one to one of the security guards and pointed me out in the crowd! I was absolutely thrilled, thank you Myles :D <3  Later on that night it was time for these giants! We ( : Carro and I) have seen them three times before, so this time it felt absolutely fine to stand a bit further back, away from the madness of the front row. A great gig as usual!  You know what's coming when the grand piano comes out...  (PS obviously NOT my video!!) And the night ended in fireworks, just like every night should - am I right?!  :)
