A GREEN UPDATE.
It's time for a post about one of my big loves - my house plants! ❤ an ever evolving topic so I figure it could be fun to check in on every now and again. Am I right??? I've recently realised that there's sort of a little shelf above our shower, one that's perfect for a couple of plants!! My dream of showering in a mini jungle is slowly coming true. (until one falls down on showering persons head, fingers crossed that doesn't happen anytime soon) Mr Planty has grown so big and bushy now so the easiest way to water him is simply to let him hang out under the shower for a bit. We do this weekly (ish) and it seems to keep him happy! I've brought up 4 avocados from stones now, they all seem to love life on the sixth floor! Huge leaves. This is a chilli plant that I'm hoping will bear fruit this year!! Don't know if I should be doing anything in particular to encourage the process? One of my favourites: a Pelargonium Crispum, or as we say in Sweden, the Doctor Westerlund. Smells like lemon 🍋❤Mom brought be a couple of cuttings when she was here, I've put one in water and planted one straight in soil. Hoping at least one will take!!! Another geranium! It's funny, I keep reading that they go in to rest over winter but mine has just kept growing and growing. It's like a bush now, and it's not stopping! As we have a roomie in these days I've had to rearrange les planties a little bit, these used to be closer to the window but seem to be loving life here on the wall. They still get plenty of light and they are slightly easier to get to for me, so they probably end up getting more TLC. Another fave that mom brought a cutting of from Sweden, it's got the most beautiful name: Rodeo Drive. Can't wait to plant it in a big pot and watch it thrive. For now it lives on the table with gold finger and ms ivy who lives in a backwards gin bottle :))) (the bottle and the orange pot are actually really big, don't know if that shows here!) The Devils Ivy got to stay in the window, one of the most fun ones to grow as it grows SO quickly! Really doesn't require much effort either, I rooted it in water and then once it was planted I just give it a little drink a couple of times a week and that's it! Love the long viny look 😍 One of the avocados got to stay in roomies window as well, love our avvos ❤ Last out is Peppa the Chinese pepper plant who lives on the mantel piece with the pug statuette. Now that's not all plants here at home, but all for this time :) I'm realising that I do have quite a lot actually, haha. Love our little jungle! Now I need to get ready to head out and pick up kiddos from school. Happy plant day from your local (freshly showered) plant enthusiast! 😃
