WHAT TO WEAR UNDER ABAYA?
Hegab Rehab reveals her abaya secrets! What to wear under your abaya on summertime? SILK & SATIN dresses/chemises/nighties! I totally agree with her, I hate it when the pockets of my jeans can be seen when I'm wearing an abaya (this happens especially with my supersmooth light sand colored abaya, it's almost white and the material is so thin and smooth) so what do I do? I usually wear tunics and tiny dresses with cotton leggings underneath. I usually get my dresses from H&M, Gina Tricot or TopShop. I love tunics because they're both cute and comfortable! I'm going to Dubai in April for holidays and I bet it's pretty hot in there, so I'll definitely pack my silk chemises with me. Here's Hegab Rehab's tips: * they are light and breezy - perfect for summer * it covers your body from chest to above the knees * materials like satin and silk are very smooth. the satin clings to your body, but the material in your abaya easily glides over the satin and will not show your curves underneath, unlike other materials that can * when you wear pants underneath your abaya, sometimes the pockets, etc on the pants can be seen under the abaya, due to the pants not being one smooth, continuous material. The satin camisole, because it covers your bum, prevents this from being seen (especially when your abaya is made from crepe as is the norm with saudi/UAE abayat) * so basically you get an all over smooth appearance from under your abaya - no VPL's, no shape showing through, no pant pockets showing through your abaya (which can attract attention to your bum) * plus they are really cheap - you can pick you really cute, girly, colourful, cheap ones from places like K-Mart and Target here in Australia (good priced department stores) Check out Hegab Rehab's cool blog on Islamic Fashion and the rest of the article HERE
