Boozy Cherries & Peach Pie
Tonight I decided to make something from the fruit we picked at Fishkill farms on Sunday. I made boozy cherries, similar to those cocktail cherries you get in drinks sometimes but homemade. And a peach pie with sour cream. Spending time in the kitchen has become such a great source of stress relief for me in the past couple of years. I enjoy the process from start to finish, and love trying new recipes (just like today).
Here are the links to both recipes.
Next blog post will definitely be a recap of our weekend "mini-moon" (mini honeymoon).

Combine sugar and water, and boil until it turns into a syrup. Toss in the cherries and let it boil for another 5 minutes.

Poor in the cherries and the syrup into each jar, add liquor of your choice. I did one with rum and the other with Limoncello.
Here is the peach pie before I poured in the filling.
Ready for the oven!
And here is the pie fresh out of the oven. It turned out good, but the pie crust was in the oven a bit too long unfortunately so it's all crispy.. oh well, now I know what to change for next time.
