Boozy Cherries & Peach Pie
Tonight I decided to make something from the fruit we picked at Fishkill farms on Sunday. I made boozy cherries, similar to those cocktail cherries you get in drinks sometimes but homemade. And a peach pie with sour cream. Spending time in the kitchen has become such a great source of stress relief for me in the past couple of years. I enjoy the process from start to finish, and love trying new recipes (just like today). Here are the links to both recipes. Peach Pie with Sour Cream Boozy CherriesNext blog post will definitely be a recap of our weekend "mini-moon" (mini honeymoon). Combine sugar and water, and boil until it turns into a syrup. Toss in the cherries and let it boil for another 5 minutes. Poor in the cherries and the syrup into each jar, add liquor of your choice. I did one with rum and the other with Limoncello. Here is the peach pie before I poured in the filling. Ready for the oven! And here is the pie fresh out of the oven. It turned out good, but the pie crust was in the oven a bit too long unfortunately so it's all crispy.. oh well, now I know what to change for next time.
