5 Things to Do in Seychelles

The Indian Ocean is home to several different tropical countries that are scattered throughout its vast area. One of the most hidden and yet enchanting places is a small island nation in the middle of nowhere called the Seychelles. Situated off the coast of continental Africa, the Seychelles is one of the lesser known travel destinations in the region, but by far one of the most beautiful countries in the world. It is also one of the safest and best countries to visit in Africa and is a popular destination for honeymoons and weddings.  As you can imagine, there's so much to do in this little jewel tucked in the Indian Ocean but we'll narrow down to the absolute five things you must do while you're here:  Chill Out in Anse Lazio People expect blue waters, sand, sun, and nature when they go to a tropical paradise and the Seychelles does not disappoint. For those seeking these things in the Seychelles, one of the best places to check out is Anse Lazio. Anse Lazio is largely famous for its vast and pristine beaches, as well as the clear blue waters around it. It's simply gorgeous and a destination you wouldn't want to leave. And if you're into snorkeling and diving, this location and it's surrounding beaches are popular spots for people who come to the Seychelles to dive and snorkel.  2. Discover the Island of La Digue  If there is one place you will not want to miss while you are in the Seychelles, it would be the island of La Digue. This island is one of those parts of the world where time has simply stood still. With little to no vehicles, plenty of traditional architecture, an abundance of beautiful beaches, and nature at its best, this small island in the Seychelles is a forgotten paradise. We guarantee that you've never been to or seen anywhere like this. We also know that you would love to stay here forever, well, until you need to return to your modern amenities.  3. Get a Glimpse of the Giant Tortoise  The extinct Giant tortoise , a creature that most of us can only imagine exists, calls the Seychelles home. In fact, the Seychelles is one of the few places where one can find the giant tortoise; other major destination being the Galapagos Islands which is not particularly easy to get to. So, if you are in search of the great tortoise that can weigh up to 1000 pounds and can grow more than 4 feet tall, then you should head to the island of Curieuse Island where you will see enough of them to last you lifetime.  4. Dig into Seychellian Seafood  If you love sea food, you've come to the right country! Surrounded by water on all sides, the Seychelles is an excellent place for foodies who love sea food. The Seychelles cuisine is a mixture of traditional local food with a vibe of creole; this has transformed this island cuisine into something you would like to eat and take home for your next meal. And in case you're wondering what to order while in the Seychelles, I'll recommend the best local food in this island - fish curry. You can thank me later.  5. Explore the City of Victoria  Victoria, the capital of Seychelles, is located on Mahe Island. It is one of the most beautiful tropical cities ever, and it is largely comprised of French European architecture with an abundance of historical landmarks. Even though it is not a particularly big city compare to other capital cities in the world, the city of Victoria is a hotbed of Seychellian culture, great food, a great location for water sports avenues and more.  There are indeed many more amazing things the Seychelles offers and you'd need to take that journey of a lifetime to explore it all. If you have done so, please add Seychelles , the beauty of Africa, to your bucket list! You'll be glad you did.
