Fashion Photography - Fashion Week
Make up Store fashion show So I promised you guys a post about Fashion Week. Perfect Monday morning reading! So when I first started out as a photographer, before I got paid, before I knew that much people in the business. I thought that Fashion Week must be one of the best places to network and meet the right people. I was right. I had just been at a photography course by Rami Hanna the day before and was going to test my skills now for real. Here comes a 3 step guide to Fashion Week Step 1. E-mailYou kinda want to be on the list for the shows. Some people actually sneaks in but I would not recommend that! Since I know how crazy those days can be for the PR agencies and how much work they put into it. What you do is that you email the agencies that are behind the show you want to go and see. You say that you are a freelance photographer and would love to see their show. A lot of agencies will put you on the list. You will not get a seat but you will get in the building! Step 2. Taking PlaceYou are going to want a clear view of the catwalk if you are their to shoot and not just to look. So they may say to you that you should stand like all the way back behind tons of people. If they do, follow them. Then take a little detour and see if there is any other good spots. Once you are inside the shows, it is much easier to get a good spot by just taking place. All of the paparazzi's from different magazines are going to stand in the front. You will definitely see them. Bottom line is. Take the space you want. But beware of the seats with names... Step 3. After the show Everyone will clear the building pretty fast after the show. It is always a tight schedule where you have maybe 15 min to go to the next show. So if you want to take good Streetstyle photos I would probably recommend you to not be on the show where you want to take streetstyle shoots. Cause then you will miss the people that goes out before you. A lot of photographer stands outside and waits until the shows are over. I would say that the best shows to actually be inside and watch are Ida Sjöstedt, Cheap Monday and the newcomer. There is almost always a newcomer. Importent dates: SS17 will show in August, keep track on the exact dates at www.fashionweek.se
