Google Chelsea Office, New York City
As in many fields, Google stands out with its innovative and trendsetting feature in office designs. In addition to creative office design and decoration, Google is a very thoughtful and attentive company about the needs and demands of its employees. Google's presence in NYC started with a single building on Chelsea Market. On an area of 13,500 square meters, there are offices, meeting areas of various sizes, fitness studio, 200-person cafeteria and an original pedestrian bridge. The Chelsea office space, like the city of New York itself, is designed to work by creating opportunities for different groups of people to meet as randomly as possible. Inside the office, there is a corridor paved with fire pipes and graffiti-covered wall tiles. There are also a subway-themed room with a large map of the NYC subway system and Broadway-themed conference rooms decorated with elegant gold chairs covered in red velvet. Google's unique sense of humor appears throughout the office space. For example, strange family photos are displayed on the wall of a meeting room decorated in a small and old New York apartment. A Victorian-themed library features framed photos of Star Wars characters for the period. In addition, Google provided its employees with scooters to facilitate their movement within the area.
