Food in Japan
Japan is famous for it's rich food culture, unfortunately I don't dig the japanese kitchen. That was gonna be a problem, wasn't it? I don't eat seafood, mushrooms, raw food and sushi.. But, none the less I have a not had a single dish here that wasn't good. Because Japan is famous, not only for it's japanese kitchen, but for having great restaurants – French, Italian, Indian - I mean they even got Swedish restaurants here.I haven't dared to try something "different" yet. But, yesterday we had lunch at a delicious Indian restaurant. And the other day we walked to a market in Kyoto where they sold differentdishes from small stands. We had chicken and sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoe looked like awesome french fries but when I took a bite of it, it wasn't salt, it was sugar. Oh, I have to tell you about a sad food experience we had recently. So, we went to this Italian restaurant where Patricio ordered a pizza (my god, I wish I also had a pizza) and I ordered something that Ithought was a vegetarian tomatoe sauce pasta. But on my plate there was something really weird. It honestly looked like false teeth, but without the teeth. As you can probably imagine, it looked quitediscusting. I didn't dare to try it, but Patricio did. He said it didn't taste anything and that the consistence was like rubber. So, I googled it later on and it turned out to have been tripe.. If I would have knew the english word by then (tripe) I would have understood that a dish called "La trippa" would not have been a good choice. What's the worst thing you've ever had? Tripe...
