STHLM BOOGIE 2008.

May 2008. Ten years ago. I was still new to Paris, hadn't quite found my footing yet. I still wasn't sure if I was here for the long term or just for a french class and some fun. I was living with my dad, just off the Champs Elysées, in a beautiful, big, classic Parisian apartment. I spent some time in May in Stockholm, with the people I was the absolute closest to.  We sat on Skinnarviksberget, our favourite spot in the city. We used to hang out there all the time, grilling hot dogs on disposable barbecues, drinking cheap beer, looking out over the city. Our favourite movie was Stockholm Boogie and we pretended to live in their world.  When I say we, it was mostly Sophia (on the left) and I. Linda had just gotten together with Jheffrey and we were so happy that she was with someone who wanted to come out with us. Today they have two kids together <3 and Sophia? She's married!  We went out every night, we were young and every day was summer. I carried that shiny, purple bag until it fell apart completely. The girl I'm hugging said we couldn't be friends anymore after I'd missed one of her messages on Facebook. I've had lots of friendships end in very abrupt, dramatic ways. One person I was incredibly close to had to get away from me and the girls so badly she actually packed up and moved to Africa.  I flew back to Paris, not really knowing where my life was headed. I still don't really know where it's headed, but I'm still here. In the apartment I didn't know I would move in to a year later, looking after kids that weren't even born at that point. I was in Stockholm recently and am lucky enough to still call Linda & Sophia two of my best friends <3 it's nice to know that some things will never change. Maybe next time I'll drag them up to Skinnarviksberget again. <3
