HELLFEST, DAY 1.

Friday was the first day we woke up at Hellfest :) D. had bought so many gadgets this year (it was his first time there, he wanted it to be perfect <3), including a black out tent. I was skeptical to a lot of his buys, but this one turned out really well actually. We managed to sleep in pretty much every day there, the worst thing is otherwise when the tent turns in to a sauna the second the sun comes up... anyway, here he is: Mr Gadget, prepping breakfast :)  We had crackers with rillette (a super-french spread), avocado, cheese & tomato. And still chilled coronas! All packed in to D's new upgraded cooler bag.  Guillaume and Laura sniffed out our breakfast nook ;)  Then it was time for round 1 in the actual festival area!! Duncan's very first time in, I made sure to give him the grand tour. We ooh-ed and aah-ed. And said hi to the metal pig :)  First gig! Joan Jett! Such a cool woman!  Shouted along to Bad reputation, I love rock n roll and other classics - a great way to kick off the day!  At one point Duncan said: I wonder if Louis is here, wouldn't surprise me! Less than two minutes later (I'm not exaggerating) he popped up right in front of us! Haha!  After Joan it was time for a beer-break. Cheers :)  We had our eye on a BBQ place that looked good and decided to go for it now that the line wasn't very long. Unfortunately D and I seem to have gotten the very end of one serving cause it was dry, chewy & stone cold. Guillaume got rare, beautiful, hot bits :((( I was very disappointed. I can get very moody when it comes to food.  After lunch it was time for Europe and the biggest poser on stage: Joey Tempest. It was quite cringy to watch at times, felt like the embarrassing dad that thinks he's really cool. Still makes me a bit uncomfortable thinking about it. I've seen Europe twice now and have been equally disappointed both times. Count me out from now on..   But! We weren't going anywhere! About an hour later Hollywood Vampires were up, so we took our seats by the stage and awaited them. D. drew on Guillaumes shoes. Hell is a very dusty place, if you didn't know.  Then they were there! Alice Cooper!  Johnny Depp!  And Joe Perry!  A great show!!  That night we wandered round the area, laughed at this sign (Mexican street food: the flavour, without the heat! Only in France, haha), checked out Judas Priest and had an all round good time :) Thank you Hellfest for this amazing Friday!
