DATE NIGHT.
Yesterday afternoon was sunny and quiet here in the city. I admired my plants from the sofa. And tied a little hanger for the one on the left! Super simple and a bit crooked, but only took me ten minutes and I was really quite happy with it :) Hi little gullranka! I have no idea what you're called in English. Wait, just looked it up, apparently you have a bunch of names! I'm gonna go with devil's vine :D D. and I had planned to go to Gumbo Yaya for dinner, I'd read lots of good things and it's just around the corner from us. We figured because it was a Monday night in August it wouldn't be packed, but oh how wrong we were.. we got there when they opened and there was a long line. The guy took our order & phone number and promised to call when he had a table for us, we headed next door in the meantime. To Generator hostel and their rooftop bar! We ordered elderflower spritzes and sat down in the evening sun. Felt a bit like we were on holiday :) After a couple of drinks we started heading back, we figured we might as well hang around outside and wait for our table to be ready. We didn't wait more than two minutes until the guy called, then spotted us through the window and happily waved us in! Moroccan beers and fried chicken was on the menu! The chicken was very yummy, crunchy and crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The sides were very much a let down though.. the spinach and avocado I got was exactly just that - spinach leaves from a bag with three slices of avocado on top and the mac n cheese was dry, bland and sad. BUT again, the chicken was very nice!! If I'm ever craving fried chicken I'll be happy to go back, just for the chicken though. After dinner we went home and watched a movie in our chicken-coma state, good Monday date night all in all :)
