A WEEK OF VISITS, FOOTBALL & BEER.

It's been quiet on the blog for the past few days, due to technical issues... sigh. Have half sorted it out now so can finally share some snapshots from the week!A few days ago Kat and I started chatting about llamas & alpacas for some reason, then when she came over later on that night she had bought be this! <3 1000 friend points to Kat.  On Saturday my dad was in town! We went for dinner at Chez Fernand, a little place that has been around since the 70s. Very tasty : )  After dinner we went for a drink at The Moose before we hugged goodbye. Dad & Helena had an early train the next day so went back to their hotel, I stayed out until way too late with these two.  The next night Kat & Linda came over for our weekly dinner & wine-night, and a couple of hours later Richard landed in Paris! He's a very good friend who now lives in Atlanta, Georgia. He's here visiting this week, lovely to have him around again. After a good catch up and some sleep the day was spent wandering through the city, with a quick Parisian beer-stop by the Paris Plages.   One of "my" families has visited as well, I've missed them SO much. Monday I was babysitting the kids (although it feels weird to say babysitting, we're so close it just feels like hanging out with family), walked through Promenade Pereire on my way over to theirs and stopped to smell the flowers. Was feeling very happy.  A hop and a skip later it was Tuesday and Richard and I picnic-ed by the canal. He played Celine Dion really loud and I tried to sink through the ground. Good friends.  The big event on Tuesday was of course the France-Belgium game, we went to Johan's and played Jenga in waiting for things to kick off.  I thought I played very well but he won anyway. Didn't want to play more after that. : (  Suddenly the bar was packed, emotions were high and of course - France went on to the final and people went running & screaming on the streets.  Just before midnight Kat managed to sneak out to the nearest bakery and get an a little treat because Wednesday was Richards birthday! So on the stroke of midnight Johan put on Stevie Wonders version of Happy Birthday and we cheered and had apple tart : )  Which brings us to Wednesday, a pretty weak day at least for me... we ended up at Johan's again, watched the England-Croatia game (very sad results) and played darts, which I'm surprisingly good at! Who knew?? Today has been a day of chores, Richard is out wandering somewhere and I'm about to go pick up a couple of kids in school. Tomorrow Duncan comes home!!!! <3
