Edinburgh By Night - Two Cool Bars
The only plan for Saturday night in Edinburgh was a dinner reservation at fantastic Michelin star restaurant (but that deserve a post of its own). Before dinner it was time for a pree-drink and the destination was The Dome (two seconds walk from the hotel, perfect!). The building is marvellous and inside it’s absolutely stunning, like walking into a castle. Very touristy unfortunately but except that I just loved the place. The sealing, decorations, lighting and the massive flower arrangement was so beautiful. It looked like in a movie. I would love to throw a big party there! And more importantly the staff was super friendly and the drinks where delicious (and strong!). I chose my favourite, espresso martini, it slimmed down quickly I can promise ;) Another tip is Panda and Sons: it’s such a hip, quirky and basement bar and a bit hidden away. First you enter to a fast food place, walk down the stairs where you find a small living room, where you pull a book from the book shelf to open the door. It was a waitress who recommended the place. I always find it best to ask local people, then you find those hidden gems. Its a really cool space with walls of vintage books, old lamps, gramophones. Great atmosphere and good cocktails
