Couple embraces DC tourists in wedding photos
When Tim Toomey and Jamie Manner got married last month, they planned to take photos at some of D.C.’s busiest tourist attractions. They didn’t plan to take photos with strangers, but they did – with roughly two-hundred of them. The couple lives in Chicago, but Manner is originally from the DC-area. She says, from the moment she and Toomey became engaged, she knew they “wanted to do photos at the Monuments.” On May 7th, in her wedding one shoulder prom dresses uk and with the bridal party in tow, the couple headed to the Jefferson and then the Lincoln Memorial. “It was just really crowded that day,” explained Toomey. “Our photographer kept trying to clear everybody out so we could get kind of an empty background.” Most of the photos turned out as they expected – beautiful and without any tourists in the background. For their final set of photos, Manner says, they decided to sit on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. “Originally what we were doing was sitting on the steps blending in with the tourists, and I hear off in the distance our groomsmen Dennis just yelling – at everybody – gather around the bride and groom.” Within minutes, they were surrounded, by hundreds of strangers from all over the world. “I didn’t realize how many people were around me,” Manner told WUSA9. “I was just so in the moment. It really touched my heart that all these strangers…were really into it. They were cheering.” The Toomeys posted the photo on Reddit this week, but so far they haven’t heard directly from anyone in the photo. Read more:red prom dress
